Holsworthy Health Centre is in good health — that is the conclusion of the 283 patients who filled in a general practice assessment questionnaire during the six weeks ending February 14.

The results were discussed on Wednesday evening, February 15 at a meeting of the Patients' Panel chaired by Mr Dave Thomas.

One hundred per cent of respondents said they found the receptionists at the practice helpful, 90 per cent said it was easy to get through on the phone and 80 per cent said it was easy to speak with a doctor or nurse on the phone.

Ninety one per cent found the current opening hours convenient and 83 per cent of patients were always or almost always able to speak to their preferred GP.

Both GPs and nurses were very highly rated (94 to 98 per cent) for the care and concern they showed, giving patients enough time, explaining treatment and involving patients in decisions about their care. Indeed there was a comment which rated one of the GPs as 'the finest doctor on earth!'
