A NEW Foundation Stage Unit is to be constructed on land at Holsworthy Primary School.

Devon County Council's Development Control Committee recently granted planning permission for the construction of a Foundation Stage Unit as an extension to the Children's Centre at Sanders Lane, Holsworthy.

As part of the plans, the existing nursery unit will be demolished to provide a car park with 10 additional spaces.

The main aim of the development is to relocate the existing nursery that is currently accommodated in a temporary unit. This will allow all the services for young children to be managed within one building, providing a hub for all essential services for parents and young children.

Councillors voted in favour of the recommendation to approve the plans, subject to various conditions.
