AT LEAST ten residents of Holsworthy have called for an election to be held to fill the vacancy on the town council left by Cllr Paul Sales' resignation.

The closing date for anyone wishing to put themselves forward is February 6 and providing more than one candidate comes forward the election will be held on March 5.

The Mayor, Cllr David Smith, received Cllr Paul Sales' resignation on December 23.
