RESIDENTS from Holsworthy and surrounding area have boasted the friendly atmosphere and caring environment provided at the town's day centre, writes Amelia Chubb.
For over 19 years Holsworthy Day Centre has supported the elderly and despite changes over the past 12 months, the charity has been maintained.
Members of the centre told the 'Post' they would be lost without it, many relying on its facilities and personal care.
It not only provides somewhere for people to enjoy lunch out of their own home, it is a place where they can socialise and try things they wouldn't necessarily take part in, including monthly day trips, yearly holidays, exercises, talks and demonstrations.
It strives to be 'more than just a day centre' that offers respite for carers and it promotes an ethos that age or disability should not be a barrier or prevent someone from leading a normal life.
