A FIRE crew from Holsworthy was sent to a report of a chimney on fire in a property at Ashwater at around 5.20pm on January 26.

On arrival the crew confirmed that the chimney was well alight and they went to work using one hose reel, small tools, a thermal image camera and chimney gear.

The officer in charge requested further personnel to assist and so a fire crew from Hatherleigh was sent on.

Good progress was made fighting the fire from the hearth as well as from the chimney top.

A ladder and safety at height equipment was also used.

A crew revisited the property later on in the evening to check the chimney.

FIRE crews from Holsworthy were called to a chimney fire at Tinney Farm, Pyworthy, at around 7.45pm on January 27.

On arrival they found the the fire involved a wood burning stove at the property.? The fire was extinguished shortly after 8pm.
