A HOLSWORTHY couple received a surprise of a lifetime earlier this month, when they were announced winners of a television competition.

When Kirstie and Andy Stone entered ITV Daybreak's competition to take 100 people (50 winners plus partner) to Australia, they were delighted to be shortlisted.

The trip had been set up to celebrate the programme's first anniversary.

The couple had to choose a destination that they would like to visit out of a number of destinations — Perth and Margaret River, Adelaide and Kangaroo Island, Melbourne and the Great Ocean Road, Sydney and Surrounds and the Great Barrier Reef.

Kirstie chose the Great Barrier Reef and then, a month before the departure date on November 4, the couple received a phone call to say they had won.
