TWO students from Holsworthy Community College have won the RIBA Prize for their ‘outstanding’ design work.
Libby Purl and Oscar Allen, who currently attend Holsworthy Community College have been awarded 1st and 2nd prize in the ‘RIBA South West Work Experience Competition’ recently for their outstanding design work.
The brief was to design an observation station for lifeguard operations, in which they were able to choose the location of the project utilising any beach or lakeside in Cornwall or Devon.
Both Libby and Oscar worked on their design submission for a week alongside their two mentors at Trewin Design Architects in Holsworthy, Lydia Rowe and Anthony Vickery during July of this year.
The competition was organised by the RIBA Cornwall branch involving several architectural practices throughout the region and judging took place in September.
