HOLSWORTHY Carnival will go ahead this year regardless of a financial struggle, the secretary of the committee has confirmed.
It will cost an extra £966.60 to operate the event in November, Wendy Rogers (secretary) told Holsworthy Town Councillors at the meeting on Wednesday, May 2.
Last year's carnival amounted to £2,430, but the committee has been working hard to cover the escalated fees.
Mrs Rogers gave a breakdown of operational costs to councillors, this included an extra £500 for St John Ambulance cover.
"The bill came ten days before the carnival and it has really knocked us back," she said.
