ARMY Cadet Sergeant Rebecca Ede, aged 16, from Holsworthy, has been awarded certificates earned through participation in adventurous and challenging training and also commitment and dedication. Over the past year, Rebecca has completed various modules including uniformed service and sports culminating in the receipt of the Army Cadet Force Vocational Qualification B Tec diploma with 2 merits and 2 distinctions. The diploma, which can be accessed free by senior cadets, is worth four GCSE passes. In July, Rebecca travelled to the Army Cadet Force National Training Centre at Frimley where after a five- day long course undertaking military exercises including preparation of written orders for her section, an expedition and many other physical and mental challenges she received her Cadet Leadership certificate. Rebecca is the senior cadet at Holsworthy detachment and has responsibilities including maintaining discipline, cadet welfare and training her peers. She is also a qualified signals instructor and carries out the role of Mayor's Cadet.
