HOLSWORTHY Army Cadet Force (ACF) is shooting to success as its team has recently won the county 'Courtney Air Rifle Competition'.

Lance Corporal Adam Thain (aged 16) was the only shooter to obtain the maximum score in one of the disciplines in the event.

The team had been training hard for several months and their efforts were supported by the supply of specialist shooting slings purchased with donations from Holsworthy's Rotary and Lions clubs.

Detachment spokesman Sgt Major Jim Harvey said: "We are all very proud of the dedication and commitment shown by the team which has led to this achievement.

"I would like to thank the Lions and Rotary branches for their very kind and generous donations which has allowed young people from Holsworthy to develop their potential as skilled competition shooters."
