Responding to an increase in demand, the Holsworthy office of the Citizens Advice Bureau is expanding its services. In addition to being open on a Wednesday from 10am to 12.45pm and 1.30pm to 4pm it will now be open every Monday from 10am to 1pm.

Speaking at a meeting of the Community Forum, Louise Day, the advice

service manager for Torridge, Mid-Devon and Bude, said they could offer a wide range of advice such as on benefits, debt, housing, employment and family law as well as giving help with form filling and representation at tribunals.

There has been a big rise in the number of people contacting the local CABs for help with money problems. In Torridge some branches have seen an 80 per cent rise in enquiries and were seeing up to 400 clients a month face to face.

Anyone wanting an appointment at the Holsworthy office should phone 01409 254985.
