WAITROSE presented a cheque to Holsworthy and Bideford Cats' Protection league recently for £416. Crina Mandry said they were "over the moon" with the donation as they are currently inundated with kittens. A spokesperson for Holsworthy Cats Protection said the majority of all money raised or donated to the charity goes on day to day expenses for the cats, with 70/80 per cent of this being vets' bills. Over the last year the number of kittens at the charity has doubled and over the last five weeks they have had around 40 kittens. The charity is also promoting its free cat neutering campaign for those that live in the EX21/ EX22/ EX38 and EX39 areas, to try and reduce the number of unwanted kittens. The Holsworthy and Bideford Cats Protection league is, for the first time, teaming up with the Barnstaple branch for the campaign, which begins on September 20 and runs until October 19. For more information and to claim your free voucher contact the charity on 07983 209737.
