THERE will be a change of venue for the Hollacombe Church’s Harvest Thanksgiving Evensong, which will be presided over by former Archdeacon of Barnstable.

The guest preacher will be Father David Gunn Johnson, who is the retired Archdeacon of Barnstable. He served the Hollacombe area for many years before his retirement last year.

Due to the roof repairs currently being carried out at Hollacombe Church however, the usual Harvest Thanksgiving Evensong will instead be held in St Peter and Paul Church, in Holsworthy, at 7pm, on Sunday, September 11.

It will be followed by the usual auction and supper and everyone will be as welcome to Holsworthy Church as if it were being held at Hollacombe.

The roof repairs are going ahead as planned — however the time scale may have altered as work was started a little later than expected.

It is hoped there will be a celebratory service when the roof repair work is finished.
