Hilary Lister arrived in Bude on June 1, having sailed from Padstow. Hilary made a stop-off at Bude as part of her attempt to become the first disabled woman to sail solo around the British coast. As well as breaking the record, Hilary aims to raise funds and awareness of her charity 'Hilary's Dream Trust.' Hilary, who has been wheelchair-bound since the age of 15 because of a progressive neurological disorder, reflex sympathetic dystrophy, uses a specially designed boat with a 'sip-and-puff' system of straws to control it.
