WORLD Book Day was celebrated in style by Budehaven Community School, with staff and students dressing up as Superheroes and Villains.

Various activities and competitions took place over a week, to include everybody in the exploration of the action-filled world of superheroes.

There was a ‘Superhero Academy’, which showed students how to get as fit as a superhero; a storyboard lesson, teaching students how to create the perfect comic book storyboard; as well as a music lesson where staff and students analysed the compositions of John Williams, responsible for some of the most well-known theme tunes in many famous films, such as Star Wars and Superman.

Leading into lunchtime, the dining hall contained a healthy menu, to enhance the idea of leading the correct ‘superhero lifestyle’.

As well as this, there was an exciting hockey match between the sixth formers and staff, which kept the school entertained for the whole of lunchtime.

Additionally, the school library held a book sale, a ‘hero’ colouring competition, and even gave students the chance to win a £1 World Book Day free book.

The effort put in from both staff and students made the day very successful indeed, and it is said that everyone has ‘a Super time’.
