HOLSWORTHY Town Council has secured a Heritage Lottery Grant Fund towards Holsworthy WW1 events being held this year.
Deputy mayor Colin Punter presented funding to; Ken Watson on behalf of Dartmoor Multi Academy Trust, Pauline Masters of Holsworthy 1st Scouts, Lesley Wonnacott at HATs and Liz Curtis at the museum.
The event, being held in Stanhope Park on September 29 from 2pm to 10pm, will be free to attend and is for all of the community, old or young, to come along and experience the day. This is ‘In Memory of the Fallen and the Future of the Living — Holsworthy Remembers WWI 100 years’.
Holsworthy Town Council would like to hear from anyone from community organisations who would like to have stall on this day.
There are many events and organisations already booked including live music, Scouts, Holsworthy School, food — but people are welcome to bring their own picnic — Help for Heroes, people in period costume, reading, silent disco — the list goes on.
A full programme of events will be available nearer the time.
For more information or to book a stand contact the town council by email to [email protected] or call 01409 253312.
