THE poor state of the road between Helstone village and the speed restriction sign on the A39 was condemned by Camelford Town Council at their meeting on April 21.

Mayor of Camelford, Cllr Brian Lush said he had been approached by a couple of residents of Helstone about the state of the road. He went to look at the road and said it was "pretty rough" and "in a terrible state."

He said he was conscious that people in Helstone pay a fair proportion of rates and added: "We tend to neglect Helstone apart from the Green."

It was proposed that the council write a letter to Cornwall Council Highways about the state of the road, and request that it is resurfaced. All councillors voted in favour.
