On Saturday, 39 walkers from Steps2Health Tenby group had a trip out to West Angle Bay. It was a glorious sunny day, despite a chilly wind.
At the car park, they split into two groups. The first, led by Brian and Val, left the car park to walk the coast path around the headland where they had views of Thorn Island. The sea was an amazing blue colour with white horses and the paths were especially interesting with all the spring flowers in full bloom, particularly bluebells, campions, foxgloves and ferns uncurling for their first appearance.
The group continued along the path across Chapel Bay, past the lifeboat station to Angle Point. Then along Angle Bay into the village to take the road back to the car park at West Angle.
The other larger group, led by Erica, Janice, Paul, Tony and Barbara, also walked along the coast path around the headland, passing views of Thorn Island, then along the sheltered paths full of spring flowers to Chapel Fort. Then they turned down the farm track onto the road back to West Angle Bay car park.
Both groups then met at the Wavecrest café for coffee, delicious cakes and lunch for some. It was very busy with visitors and other local walking groups enjoying this fabulous part of Pembrokeshire.
Tomorrow (Saturday) meet 10.30 am at Tenby bus station for a town walk.
