A PSA blood testing event to detect the early signs of prostate disease will be held at Launceston Rugby Club next month.
Regular testing evenings are held at Wadebridge Rugby Club and have proved very successful, with over 600 tested last year.
Over 190 tests were carried out at the most recent event, and that was only the first third of the alphabet!
Now the PSA testing event has been arranged at Launceston Rugby Club on Wednesday, April 10 in the Lanson Suite from 6.30pm to 9pm.
No appointment is necessary, just turn up.
A spokesperson said: “It’s easy to do. Some paperwork, give your details, consent, etc, and then a small blood sample is taken. Results are usually within three weeks and depending on the PSA level, advice given on how to proceed if necessary.”
The testing is run by Graham Fulford, a charitable trust, and each test costs the trust approximately £17.50, so a donation is gratefully received.
“Men — this is your life, but can also affect your family, so early diagnosis can be a great help,” the spokesperson added.
The bar in the Lanson Suite will be open.
