LAUNCESTON Community Hospital will undergo a temporary closure between Friday and Sunday, September 6 to 8.
This temporary closure has been decided to allow contractors to install a new electrical switch, which will control all the power within the hospital.
People in and around Launceston will be able to access minor injury facilities at Bodmin, Liskeard or Stratton Community Hospitals, as well as NHS 111 and the out-of-hours GP service which will be available by calling 111.
There are also x-ray facilities available at Liskeard Community Hospital between 9am and 5pm on the Saturday and Sunday.
All outpatient clinics have been cancelled or relocated, and staff normally working at Launceston over the weekend will work from an alternative base.
The minor injuries unit at Launceston will reopen at 8am on Monday, September 9. The hospital will be fully operational again on Tuesday, September 10.
