A LARGE crane now towers above Launceston Medical Centre as work progresses on erecting the steel skeleton of the new extension.

Andrew Yardley, the centre’s practice manager, told the Patient Participation Group (PPG)’s November meeting: “Despite the bad weather, building work is on schedule and the extension and refurbished existing building are due to be completed in November next year.”

The build is being undertaken in phases and this first stage will consist of construction of the shell of the new building.

Phase two is due to start in June 2020 and then phase three will see the connection of the existing and new buildings.

Letters have been sent to neighbouring properties updating them on progress and activities.
