ALL essential workers in England and members of their household are now eligible for coronavirus tests.
The announcement was made by Health Secretary Matt Hancock at the daily No.10 briefing on Thursday.
Individuals who are on the list of key workers and need to book a test will be able to do so on the UK government’s website from Friday.
Mr Hancock said the move was ’part of getting Britain back on her feet’.
He added that the whole process would be free for those being tested.
It comes on a day when another 616 hospital deaths due to coronavirus were confirmed in the UK during the 24-hour period up to 5pm on Wednesday.
It brings the total number of deaths to 18,738.
