PUBLIC Health England has declared that the total number of coronavirus cases in the UK have reached 2,626.

There have been 103 deaths nationwide, and 65 recoveries. In Devon, there are now 25 cases while in Cornwall the case number stands at 10.

People are being advised to stay at home if they experience any symptoms that could indicate they may have contracted the coronavirus. Symptoms include a high temperature, where you may be hot to touch on the chest or back; or a new, continuous cough, or three or more coughing episodes within the last 24 hours.

Public Health England advises people against attending GP surgeries, pharmacies or hospitals in the case they experience symptoms, and instead ask that they visit the 111 online coronavirus website for information on what to do next.

The Post will continue to update its readers on the situation both locally and nationally as the situation progresses.
