ST SWITHIN is the patron saint of the beautiful, ancient church in Launcells.

To reach the church you leave the busy Stratton to Holsworthy road, and turn down into a secluded, peaceful valley.

This haven was the setting for a flower festival, which ended by celebrating St Swithun's Day on July 15, with a well-attended Songs of Praise.

Entitled 'This Green and Pleasant Land', 19 arrangements depicted each arranger's concept of the theme, producing delightful varied displays.
