HOW taxis operate in Cornwall is under review and Cornwall Council seeks your views.
Currently taxis can only operate in their old zones — the old district and borough areas — but private hire vehicles can operate right across Cornwall.
If taxi zones are abolished this would create one licensing area so that all taxis can operate across the entire county.
Allan Hampshire, Head of Public Health and Protection, said: "Cornwall Council is asking people to share their views and thoughts as part of the review of taxi licensing arrangements across Cornwall to ensure the way taxis operate meet the needs of our community."
Cornwall Council is also consulting on whether any new taxi licenses should only be issued to disabled accessible vehicles.
Taxi and private hire drivers have already been consulted on their views and Cornwall Council now want to hear from people who use their services. The public consultation runs until July 31.
Further information about the consultation on both taxi zones and accessibility and the questionnaires are available on the council's website at http://www.cornwall.gov.uk">www.cornwall.gov.uk and in One Stop Shops. People can also request information and questionnaires by emailing [email protected]">[email protected] or by phoning the licensing service on 0300 1234 212.
