GRAHAM Cornish, the project manager for Devon County Council reports that the section of the Ruby Way under construction from Hatherleigh through Runnon Moor to Highampton and the section from Anvil Corner to Colesmill in Holsworthy should be finished within a few weeks.
By then, 85 per cent of the path from Hatherleigh to Holsworthy will be have been completed.
A number of brown tourist signs will be erected to waymark the Ruby Way, greatly increasing its profile in the area.
Negotiations and planning applications for the two remaining gaps in the route are to be re-started.
Aerial inspections of the Colesmill Viaduct have been carried out and application for planning permission and Listed Building Consent are in preparation.
Devon County Council is grateful landowners of adjoining properties for allowing access for the survey.
An exhibition will be held in Holsworthy as soon as details are ready for display.
Meanwhile discussions continue with Cornwall Council which is developing the continuation of the Ruby Way from the Devon border to Bude.
