THIS year's Hatherleigh Carnival has been dubbed "one of the best in years" by organisers.

With a record number entries, high quality floats and "amazing" walking participants ranging from James Bond to the penguins from Happy Feet, there was plenty to see.

Crowds supported both the afternoon procession and the evening alike and the processions avoided all but one rain shower.
