MEMBERS of Bude Harvesters' Club celebrated the 95th birthday of one of their longest standing members, Margaret Ball, recently.

Margaret, a member for 35 years, is only exceeded in membership by her friend, Barbara Olley, who has been a member since the club started 42 years ago. Barbara and member Olive Dixon, both celebrated their 90th birthdays recently.

On Monday, November 4, club organiser Enid Greenwold arranged a surprise bouquet of flowers and a visit from Bude-Stratton mayor Paula Dolphin. Sylvia Jenkins, the club's tealady, also visited.

The harvesters' club celebrated Margaret's birthday again the next day at its meeting in Bude Life Centre. The only male member, Desmond Medland, baked a special cake, which was decorated by Sylvia's niece.
