TWENTY years ago a group of volunteers launched a new project, a 'village lunch', where the people of St Teath could meet every month to socialise and enjoy home cooked food.

The average number of customers in the early days was between 15 and 18; two decades later the lunch has become so popular that people come from a wide area of North Cornwall, and more than 70 customers came to the first event of the year in February.

Meat for the roasts comes from the highly respected village butcher and all food is prepared and cooked by members of the team, including a selection of three desserts every month. Any profits are given to charity. There are eleven lunches a year, including two special Christmas events when visitors include a group from Wadebridge.
