DELABOLE was lit up for Christmas on Saturday, December 7.

The big lights switch-on event was held in the village on Saturday evening, getting all the village’s residents in the festive spirit.

Switching on the lights were Delabole Carnival royalty Dexter and Evie, and there was even a visit from the Delabole Express!

A spokesperson from the Delabole Christmas lights committee said: “On behalf of all the Delabole Christmas lights committee, we would like to thank everybody involved, for giving us refreshments, helping with painting signs, changing lightbulbs, putting up the lights, fundraising and any kind of donations — big and small.

“A very successful and enjoyable evening was had by all and really showed the community spirit of Delabole. The committee have already been thinking of ideas for next year’s lights and will be fundraising for this throughout the year. We will be updating the members of the public with any progress and fundraising events via social media.

“If anyone would like to join our committee please come along to our AGM meeting at the Poldark Inn, Delabole on January 27, 7pm. We look forward to planning for next year’s lights switch-on.”
