A NEW memorial garden has been unveiled in Delabole.

Residents Doris Chapman and Pat Hall approached Delabole Parish Council with a suggestion to install two benches in memory of their late husbands.

Parish clerk Sue Theobald kick-started plans to buy and clear a site in the cemetry for the benches. Sue was joined by her husband, John, and Cllr Moyna Fox on a cold and wet day late in December, where they planted 49 hornbeam trees. The trees surround the banana benches forming a 'wind break'.
