THIS was a tough encounter on North Coast and neither team shied away from the battle.

The game was fairly even early on with both sides creating chances, the closest being Dave Sharpe's effort off the inside of the upright and 'a certain' penalty claim when Joe Reeve was taken late in the box.

The breakthrough came when Dan Warring rose to head in from a corner but the lead was cancelled out almost instantly when St Mawgan's Luke Haynes stole the ball in the area and slotted well past Nigel Cowling who did a sterling job in the sticks.

The second half saw the home side take the advantage through Paul Blackie with a looping header before Andi Sleeman found the net twice with his head and this time the visitors built on the lead and killed the game courtesy of a header from Chris Rhiordan, Dan Warring's low drive for his second of the afternoon and a skilful finish through Chris Thompson.

The home side did not give up and hit a late consolation effort with a fine strike to the corner from Dave Chiswell.
