RESIDENTS of the area received community life support training at an event in Sutcombe.

The first aid training evening was held at the Memorial Hall on Thursday, January 29.

Lorraine Buttery, a member of the Devon branch of The Royal Life Saving Society UK gave a presentation on basic life support and then it was 'hands on' with a demonstration of the automated external defibrillator (AED) machine and some first aid with resuscitation dummies.

Mrs Buttery said: "It went very well. Everybody had hands-on training with the defibrillator."
