A HANDMADE quilt is to be auctioned at Cowslip Workshops later this year, raising money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Cowslip Workshops, just outside of Launceston, will be holding their annual Christmas Fair on November 19, where the beautiful handmade quilt will be auctioned.

Sue Maddox, who is heavily involved with Cowslip and is good friends with Sue Watters, who sadly lost her husband to the disease recently, is hoping the auction will raise several thousands of pounds for the charity.

Their good friend, Australian lady Di Ford-Hall, created the quilt from scratch. Di travels around the world collecting fabrics, and makes numerous beautiful, intricate quilts.

Di generously donated the quilt, named ‘Rotherford Greys’ to be auctioned to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society.

Over the last few months, preparations for the auction have been undertaken, with the raffle tickets now printed and available to purchase.

Sue told the Post: “It’s amazingly generous. We’re just thrilled to have this opportunity to raise money with such a beautiful quilt. All of Di’s designs are published in a book, so it’s great to be able to auction such a lovely quilt for the Alzheimer’s Society.”
