FOR those with memory problems there is a drop in service being offered at Halwill Baptist Hall every third Thursday of each month from 3pm until 5pm.
The Forget-Me-Not Friends can provide tea, cakes and a friendly atmosphere for those who are wishing to socialise for an hour or two each month. All are welcome, but especially those who are affected by memory loss.
For those who do have memory problems the café can provide stimulating, interactive and engaging activities — these can include anything from games, reminiscence, music sessions, quizzes, information talks, relaxation sessions or just an opportunity to chat.
There is also a ‘Carer Support Group’ on offer at the same time for those who care for someone with memory loss.
These services are particularly helpful as they provide peer support from others in similar situations.
If anyone is interested in receiving more information about the Forget-Me-Not Friends café they are welcome to contact Barbara Dalton on 01409 221328 or Trish Burke on 07811574765.
