TOWN councillors were pleased to hear at a recent Launceston Town Council meeting, that the Town Hall and St John Ambulance Hall are both being well utilised by the community.

Mayor Margaret Young expressed her delight at the mixture of events that had taken place in recent weeks.

She said: “Last week alone we had such a mixture of events in the town hall.

“I would estimate that around 1,200 people came through the doors for each evening event — it has been huge!”

Cllr Young extended her thanks to everyone who helps to make it possible to hold such events in the Town Hall.

She said: “I think we should thank the caretakers, they do an extraordinary job setting up and packing chairs away. When it is a busy week it is a lot of extra work for them but it is great that we are using the space we have as much as we are as well as the ambulance hall too.”
