I would just like to mention how disappointed I am with some of the trick or treaters that came to our house on Halloween this year.

My daughter (aged almost four) and I had put our pumpkin out on the doorstep whilst we went out to pick her Daddy up, he's in the RAF and works away. My daughter was very excited for Daddy to see the pumpkin all lit up when we arrived home but to her dismay someone had stolen it whilst we were out. I assume this was the trick for not being home when they called.

I would just like these people to know quite how devastated my daughter was at this 'trick'. She cried! She asked if the baddies had taken it and when were they going to bring it back. What could I say to that? I couldn't tell her that someone had seen it smashed in the road a few streets away from our house could I?

She did tell me that she doesn't want Halloween to come again next year though so this is one house that won't be as welcoming next time around. Please be responsible with your trick or treating next year, and if you're old enough to be out without your parents, think of the younger children who are just beginning to understand the magic of Halloween. The magic's been ruined in our house.
