A VILLAGE hall was a hive of activity for its recent annual market day.

St Breward Market Day, which has become a staple event in the village calendar, continued its success on Saturday, March 22.

Twenty-two stalls filled the village hall, including members of St Breward Christmas lights committee and children from Sir James Smith's School raising money for their causes.

Ken Bryan, hall committee member said: "It was clear that all were doing a steady turnover of their wares and many good causes were gaining support.

"This was certainly the hub of St Breward on Saturday and it was good to see so many young people present, we want them — we need them, to be the organisers and supporters of the future years, as this event seems set to be around for a long time."
