TWO groups in Bude are among 20 across Cornwall that have been successful in applying for funds from the BBC Radio Cornwall Appeal Fund.

More than £53,000 raised by radio listeners will be paid out to the charities to help them continue their work in the community.

One of the larger donors was the Cornwall Male Voice Choir Federation, whose concert in the Royal Albert Hall in November 2013 raised thousands for the charity.

Other funds have come from community fundraising. The fund is administered by Cornwall Community Foundation.

The Friends of Bude Sea Pool will receive £5,000, and money towards transport will help Exercising for Mobility, a group that offers free exercise classes for adults with a disability or a long-term health condition.
