MONDAY night saw the inaugural meeting of the Launceston Loyalty Scheme steering group.

The purpose of the meeting was to establish the scope and basic principles of this exciting new scheme, as well as funding sources and project timescales.

Chair of Launceston Chamber of Commerce Paul Loft said: "We were very pleased to have been able to establish a broad agreement with Kenetic Design for help with design and print services, and support from the 'Post', who have agreed to assist with our media campaign, which will form a key part of the project."

Representatives from county and town councils were also in attendance, and it has now been confirmed that the group will be able to go ahead with the issue of loyalty cards with car park tickets in all Launceston car parks.

Paul continued: "We have a total of 50 town centre businesses waiting to come on board, and are looking at ways in which we can include parishes in the surrounding areas in the scheme. Nearer to our launch date we will be holding an evening for all participating businesses, to ensure that we have some great offers available to holders of the loyalty card."
