The Griffon Choir was formed in 1971 by staff and families originally connected with the Pembroke Power Station, but is now independent. Its aim was to provide social as well as musical pleasure for its members, and charitable fund-raising. In recent years, its objectives have been extended to provide encouragement to young soloists or instrumental groups who are willing to contribute to its concerts.

The choir sings a wide repertoire of sacred and secular music ranging from oratario to songs from the shows and other popular pieces. It normally sings by invitation in churches, chapels or other venues for groups who are fund-raising for charitable or public interest causes. Rehearsals are on Monday evenings in school term times and run from 7.30 to 9.15 pm.

Meanwhile, a welcome is extended to their summer concert at St. Mary's Church, Tenby, next Thursday, June 11, at 8 pm. Special guest soloist will be alto singer Karen Barker. Tikctes are £7 (children free), with proceeds in aid of the Red Cross.
