A?WADEBRIDGE town councillor has been selected by the?Green Party to contest North Cornwall at next year's general election — the first time the party has fought the seat. She is Amanda Pennington, who is chair of the council's communications committee, deputy chair of car parks and traffic, and deputy chair of the town hall committee. She is also a director of Wadebridge Renewable Energy Network, a community interest company that aims to help the town generate its own energy and works with the community, helping people to reduce their fuel bills. She said she was determined to get the Green Party message out to the people of North Cornwall: "I want to share the values of a party that is for the good of all, and not just an elite minority. "I want to change people's perception that we have to put up with politicians who are out of touch with their electorate, and who don't listen to what their constituents are telling them. "I am proud to represent the Green Party — a party that represents real change for the common good."
