CORNWALL Council has given the go-ahead for a mixed use development including a new primary school and a significant number of houses on land at Hay Common, Launceston (with additional Section 106 conditions).

At the council's Strategic Planning Committee meeting held last Thursday (June 30) it was almost a unanimous decision for the proposal.

The outline application, submitted by Azules Ltd, is for a mixed used development comprising 290 to 330 houses (36 per cent of this will be affordable); a four class Junior Primary School with shared use community facilities including infrastructure and facilities capable of accommodating a seven class one-form entry JMI school and a family public house with ancillary letting rooms.
