A TRUNK Road Services Area (TRSA) at Kennards House has been given the go-ahead, despite safety concerns on possible A30 complications which could arise from the development, writes Amelia Chubb.

Penryn based company, Westpoint Associates Ltd submitted an application for outline planning permission for the TRSA on the A30 west of Launceston, at the junction of the A30/A395, during May last year and following a longer than anticipated consultation period, Cornwall Council gave its approval at a Strategic Planning Committee meeting on Thursday, September 22.

The application for the proposal comprised a filling station with ancillary building, public services (to include toilets, wash and child care facilities), restaurant/takeaway, retail and hotel buildings, together with parking for cars, HGV, coach and abnormal loads and the re-alignment of a public footpath.
