THE ladies of St Teath decided to get together to put on another superb Christmas lunch at the church hall on Wednesday, November 30.
This was to raise money for the local church of St Teath as this year no flower festival took place, so Yvonne Tew and friends came up with the idea of holding a Christmas lunch instead.
The church was very tastefully decorated with many hands behind the scenes cooking and serving the lunches. A total of 96 bookings for the event were taken but owing to a sickness bug a few had to cancel.
Local musician Alan Dawe provided entertainment. He kept the festive music going throughout the lunch and afterwards was presented with a delicious chocolate cake, as he was celebrating his birthday.
Yvonne said she was delighted with all the support and gave a big thank you for all the hard work put in by the helpers — a lot of the helpers even paid out of their own pocket to purchase the food.
Yvonne added that this showed the generosity of the people in St Teath when it comes to raising money.
The event rounded off with a raffle and a lot of happy faces departed feeling in the festive spirit and managing to raise a total of £700 for church funds.
