CAMELFORD Fun Week has been a great success so far, with the beautiful weather getting everyone excited for the events.
The week started off on Saturday with the Spring Fayre and Dog Show which was well supported, with a large turnout and many well behaved dogs.
There was craft stalls, refreshments and much more.
As well as this, the Brownies held the duck race, with Cllr Kirsty Ferguson winning the first place duck.
Additionally, a raffle was held to win a quilt in aid of the MS Society. From this, £338 was raised and the lucky winner of the quilt was Margaret Shillaber.
Sunday saw a big turnout for the Tug of War, with fun and laughter had by all. The winning team was the Heavyweights, a team made up from the Liberal Club, who had a combined weight of 140 stone.
In second place was the Beerheads, a team from the Conservative Club, and in third place was the Liberal Ladies, who took the challenge on with all their might.
The fourth place team was the Skeletors, who were reportedly good sports, but spent a lot of time on the grass, with a combined weight of 70 stone.
Monday saw the Beating of the Bounds, with participants meeting at Enfield Park to set off on a walk of approximately four miles.
The sun shone on Tuesday for the teddy bears picnic in Enfield Park. Other events during the week have included a conservation day and bat walk.
Tonight (Thursday), there will be a family bingo, organised by Camelford Town Council and Camelford Brownies.
An afternoon tea for the town’s senior citizens is to take place tomorrow (Friday) at Camelford Hall, and the grand finale to the week, the Music in the Park will be held on?Saturday.
This much anticipated event, also to be held in Enfield Park, will feature a number of acts and will be headlined by North Cornwall singer, Josh Curnow, who reached the semi-finals of this year’s Britain’s Got Talent.
The event will also include acts from?Sir James Smith’s School, Sian Netherton and Boscastle Buoys.
Chairman of the Camelford Events Working Group, Cllr Ferguson, said she was delighted with how the week had started.
