THE yearly ‘Great Otterham Sleepover’, held on Friday, November 4, was enjoyed by 59 children and facilitated by 13 adults.

Raising funds for the school is a bonus, but staff are more focused on developing the skills of confidence, self-esteem, independence and resilience. A focus this year was being able to achieve some of the ‘50 things to do before you are 11 and ¾’, as challenged by the National Trust.

Pizza, toasted marshmallows and the all important bacon and sausage bap for breakfast were all enjoyed by the masses. A total of £420 was raised, which will be spent on playground markings for the children.

Head, Mrs Helen Ward said: “This hugely enjoyable event is highly anticipated each year. So much so that our past pupils, who have moved on to secondary school, now request to come back and join in the fun one last time.

“I cannot thank enough the staff and helpers who give above and beyond to ensure the children are given this experience. They are a huge part of why Otterham is the school it is.”
