DONKEY rides, a dog show and a whole host of stalls were on offer at this year’s Black Torrington Summer Fete.
Held on Saturday, July 30, the summer fete got well underway after former mayor, and town councillor John Allen opened the event.
Cllr Allen was then seen later that day having a go on one of the many stalls, trying his luck to win a prize on the ‘Hoopla’.
There was a great turn out for the dog show, judged by Lesley Hurstwood.
There were many contestants with ‘Best in Classes’ 1-4 (Pedigree Dogs) ‘Best Puppy’ going to Bo with owner Nicky Furse. ‘Best in Show’ was Treacle with owner Brenda Randle.
Visitors were also treated to an event that is more commonly seen on the beaches of Blackpool, with donkey rides being offered and Big Ears being among the donkeys providing some of the younger visitors with an exciting trip around the fete.
With entertainment ably provided by Ashwater Community Steel Band all those who visited were certainly kept entertained and all had a fun time.
