TINTAGEL Memorial Playing Fields Committee has used a £23,000 grant from the former North Cornwall District Council to build an all age adventure trail in the park. The trail was built by Schoolscapes of Wadebridge, and was completed in time for the children to enjoy over the Easter holidays. The playing fields site is run by a small group of local volunteers, who are always after extra help or new fundraising ideas. Heidi Burgess, playing fields trustee, said: "We have been able to get a grant from SITA trust which should allow for the building of a skate area soon, but we are having difficulties with insurance cover for this at present. If you can help us out, or wish to support us in any way, please email [email protected]">[email protected]." The next event to benefit the playing fields will be the Tintagel Fun Run on May 31. For more information, please visit the website http://www.tmpfa.org">www.tmpfa.org. As of May 11, the Play Ranger Scheme will begin on the fields from 3.30pm to 5.30pm every week. This scheme allows children under 16 to play together using simple equipment.
