BLISLAND Primary School has received a First Access Music Grant from Cornwall Learning.

This means that the whole of the junior class will be having guitar lessons each week, for 10 weeks.

They recently had their first lesson and staff at the school are hoping that it may inspire some of them to take up a musical instrument in the future.

Headteacher Jo Scrimgeour said: "There is already a buzz of excitement about the lessons. The children are excited about performing for an audience in the near future."

The lessons are being taken by Tintagel-based guitarist Gary Flower, who is part the recently formed Cornwall Music Service Trust (CMST).

Cornwall Music Service was formerly run by Cornwall Council, but the council withdrew funding at the end of last year and the privately funded trust was set up at the beginning of January.
